Lost a lot of trees last night.............dam and grrrrrrrr

I went around the property 5 times beating the branches and getting rid of the heavy wet snow on the deciduous trees. Lost a couple 15 year old elm trees and damage to many others. Never in my life have I heard thunder in a snow storm; it was big loud thunder and I tried to get it on video but the timing wasn't right.
