yes, about 3 times a day. It will burn for 12 hours though the night with the thermostat turned down.

I will turn down the thermostat for the night and the house will cool down. Open the bedroom window and breathe the fresh mountain air all night.

It is a good system; forced air wood furnace hooked right into the duct work

and we burn up to 10" diameter logs, 24" long. Usually put 3 or 4 in the fire box at a time.

Through the winter, the furnace will burn 4 chords or about on average 1 cord/month
