We once had a German Shepard that liked the porcupines a bit to much. Some say that they do it cause they like getting put under to take them out.

Yea pull them all is the way to go. If a small one is embedded to deep its alright to leave it. I use to have to pull them outta my black lab cross rott whiler (very nice dog). He used to get them real bad in his mouth. Pull them outta his jaw, quite grusom
