Same here. A good ham is always good; with scalloped potatoes, hot mustard, and a vegetable. Ham sammiches are pretty delicious also.
The processed packaged ham is so expensive and doesn’t have the flavour of a bone in ham.

All my years there, there were always goods somewhere in the valley. Many times they were hidden by the tight trees.

Years ago Doug I went to an anniversary party and the lady cooked bone in ham basted in a brown sugar sauce that crusted on the outside of the ham. That was the best ham I have ever eaten bat none. I still think about that ham . Lol

I do that, the sauce is made from, Brown sugar, mustard powder, corn syrup, vinegar, flour all mixed together then rubbed on the ham, cooked at high heat until the sauce goes to a liquid, then baste the ham until done cooking.....sooooo good
