The way mine are set up is I have a drain in the basement that I put a pail under , shut off water to outside faucets in-line and go out and open taps till water quits coming out of drains. Close drain and turn inline valves on in spring when I need water outside. How does the other way work?

I’ve got hose bibs can use outside taps year round. I had to change one this fall because it finally corroded out internally
