likely easiest to just replace it. but also that's likely the least cost effective option

Ya… larger tank models like 12-16 gal with dual heating capabilities propane/electric are north of $1500, plus installation…
I could probably do it myself, although I’d have to find a route for 110V from the panel to the heater location.
