Heard there is a shortage out there Tyler. Most of the mustard grown by farmers is in Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota and Montana. Record low rain and bad drought depleted yields and reserves. Yellow mustard is a very small niche market that has a cap on contracted acres. I grew it for probably 15-20 yrs. I never could understand why more people didn’t jockey to grow it as I made way more money per acre growing it than I ever have with canola. People don’t pencil out the cost of growing a crop. They only look at the end price they get. Good for mustard growers though.

We have grown mustard for many years… but dry conditions and a dip in the price a few years ago, and we just haven’t gone back….
