my son who lives in Calgary got pulled over last night by a cop. Got a $327 fine for not have up to date registration on his truck. His insurance was good. Not sure how it happened but I am sure it won't happen again

It’s not cheap. Easy to do. Get him to sign up for email notifications from motor vehicles and they will email him when his month for registering his vehicles is happening.

I think because it was his first year or so with Alberta plates he was always used to the BC system and when we got our notice it went on the fridge door so we could see it lots. The cop did give the kid a break and it coyuld of been alot more $$$$ and his truck getting towed away.

you can set up for auto renewal in AB. as long as he doesn't have tickets his registration will automatically renew every year.

I should really get on that method of things. But I don't like the sleds to renew until sledding time. Having plates that expire in April is awesome for that. Renew in December and pay 1/4 of the year.

That’s an expensive warning!!

And a good reminder for me to go in an see if i got any plates expiring today

My registration has always been in October. But since they’ve done away with tags, I relly need to remember this month
