I haven't really been keeping tabs but is there any years of summits a person should stay away from? He is looking in the 9 to 10 K price range

Should be able to get an XM in that range. Other than the 2015’s having the short cooler and prone to running warm in marginal snow they were stellar sleds. Probably stay away from a 2017 Gen 4 but doubt you get one in that range
