That wood heat is sure sweet. That’s what I miss the most with our recent move!
I wanted back-up heat incase the furnace failed and we end up using the woodstove steady. I need to go get some dry wood as I am running low. I have 2 cords of birch seasoning right now for next year, and I am going to get a couple of cords of spruce seasoning as well.

I got tired of using tarps to cover the wood and built a wood shed. Easily held 10 cords and I cut anything dead/dry that I could find but not poplar. Mostly standing dry but if it was on the ground, I would take it and take the bark off and split it and it would be ready for that winter. Cut all our wood in the spring as soon as I could get into the bush. You have probably seen pictures of my wood shed but here is another one.
