so some dude coulda cut a circle around where the exhaust inlet is, pulled it apart and stuffed more packing in withought it blowing out? then welded it all back together to make it quieter?

It's highly possible. I bought a dynaport can for my 07 back in the day, and it had had the bottom cut off, and all the baffles had been cut out.

Hmmm.. Cause I bought my sled lightly used. The SLP can already on it.. I was going over the sled checking on this and that. I noticed on the back side of the can their is a weld right beside the factory weld where the exaust goes into the can... This weld was alot thicker and was rusted up quite a bit.. Wonder if he cut it up and stuffed more packing in their to make it quiter. Maybe it was getting to loud for him.. Only think I can think of.

Could be. Loud isn't everything. I learned that on my 07. Sucker was loud, but I think straight pipe made it lose power.

Yea, To much flow can be a bad thing. My dad has the same can that he put on brand new, (sled now has 750 miles) We noticed at about 500 miles his started to burn out and get louder. I am assuming this guy installed the can on mine when it was new judging by the discoloration of it, and dulling. Mine has 1100 Miles and my dads is alot louder.. This tells me the guy musta done something with it to make it quiter

Ya that could be. My Dad and I run the exact same machine, with pretty close to the exact same mods, both have close to the same miles on them, and we run neck and neck everytime we race.
