I think the biggest question is how hard do I want to work for the next 15 or so years???

Not saying that I want a screw the pooch position, but I don't want to be busting ma balls everyday either

Stability would play a key part in decisions these days
I agree. My daughter had part time positions at the Foothills as she worked her way up and was always stressed about job interviews every time a job was posted. She stressed about purchasing our condo but as soon as she was offered a full time position you could see the weight was lifted off her shoulders and she became more relaxed again about life. Job security, benefits and a decent wage to me is better than a higher wage, harder physical work and no job security at my age anyways or for someone who needs a job bad. You can still keep looking and grab something better if the opportunity arises.

How was the bike ride yesterday Doug? It was one of the nicest days in recent memory here. Taking the Mustang out today and we are meeting with my sisters and Mom for a pizza lunch in the park. Looking forward to mashing the gas and having the wife scream at me that I'm trying to kill her! Lmao!

Wow big discrepancy in wage. Actually location is nice but City job looks the best to me. I have a buddy that worked for the City and he said they treated him well. What kind of equipment would you run? Better hours to.

Lmao, that's awesome :rolling:
My ride was great, getting a better feel for the bike, went for a nice cruise down the hi way. Told Jacky within another week or 2, I should be comfortable enough, to take her on a ride :)

My recommendation.

Take all the job interviews and see how they go. Decide then what would be a better fit.

Also, don’t count your chickens before they hatch. You might not get offered all the positions.

I also think the city job would pave pretty sweet, if you get it.

Yes need to feel secure before taking her. If you dump it you'll never get her on the bike again. lol.I would never feel comfortable riding as a passenger on a bike or sled. I need to have the control or I become a worry wart. Lol

Right.. that's why the decision is difficult..... 40 sounds great, if I get 30hrs/week. but if I get 0/week, not so great.
I have to be able to operate, forklift, skid steer, wheel loader, grader, dump truck, water truck, telehandler and various types of Ariel lifts, up to 80 extended. The grader is the only one I've never operated, everthing else, I'm either licensed or ticketed to operate. I like the City position too, just won't enjoy the commute

Actually. the best passenger, is a skilled rider. You know what I'll be needing, when I brake, accelerate, corner etc

Good Luck Doug.

One thing with the City, Pension will probably be Lapp. It is good. Medical, sick leave , etc etc.

With us I was told 23% is what benefits cost the City

So basically add that to your wage
