....who thinks he's "saving his truck" by leaving it in 2WD and spinning forever away from the intersection: you're an idiot. Push the GD button already.

Yes...I got behind one today....there's one on every corner on every icy road.

Thank-you for your time.

my father inlaw would gimme chit steady when I was younger for driving my truck in hi range basically all winter. He would never use his 4x4 unless he was stuck, well he realized it DOES have to be used or the transfer case will eventually seize up if not used LOL so there!!!!

I have a buddy that does that!He waits till sh.. starts going south then puts it in 4x4!Pulling my 4 place enclosed coming down to mount robson he starts fish tailing with the dually and then says maybe should put it in 4x4!The cops were stopping east bound traffic because of the road! They make 4x4's for a reason use it when the roads are crap otherwise buy a car or 2 wheel drive truck!

I drive a 2wd Titan and had some asshat come unglued because I spun and spit rocks at his truck parked a foot off my bumper. His word "put it in 4x4 you retard" farther down hwy 16 my 2wd passed him as he lost it and spun into the ditch.......

Everyone says "why would anyone buy a 2wd" but if you check the ditches in the winter 75% of the vehicles I see off the road on 16 are jacked up invincible 4x4 rig rockets.......

Bingo. 4wd is a safety net that a good majority of retards that can't handle a vehicle rely on. I only have 4X4 trucks..... but I rarely use 4wd. I also am not the moron spinning like a mad fool everywhere..... or alternately the rig trash hero is his lifted Stupid Duty doing 140 km/hr on ice "cause I got a 4X4".

I mean more and more if you give the average mutt a vehicle that doesn't have traction and stability control, antilock brakes and 4 or all wheel drive they will be flipped over upside down in the first icy spell. It's sad people can't handle a vehicle anymore.... Soooooo.......... I just try and drive as little as possible and avoid the rest of the world, lol. That doesn't work, but I try.

Now you can not tell me a 2wd is better/easier and user friendly in the winter months ever, sorry!

I rest my case

Correct. However if you can handle yourself with said 2wd and still get around safely you are going to be a better driver when given the benefit of something easier to drive with 4 or AWD, etc.

That is where your case should be rested.

You're right. We can't. But I drove a 2wd truck for 6 winters. Never got stuck, or had any problems.

Growing up on the farm, and driving since I was 6, I've learned throttle control.

Yes, 4x4 is nicer, but there's nothing wrong with 2wd if you know how to drive.

I would say a good chunk of winter accidents are caused by ppl who think 4wd makes you invincible, ripping down the icy roads way to fast and not remembering 4wd doesn't help you STOP...

There is a time and place where 4wd of course is the safer alternative, but not when it just helps you accelerate faster....

It's a proven fact that on the highway 4wd is actually more likely to send you into a spin than rwd dies to people counter steering and the front dragging you into over correcting.... I have driven 2wd trucks for 8 years one of which was a Sonoma low rider.... And now the Titan and there is very few places I wouldn't trust my truck that I would trust a 4x4, and can think of maybe twice I was ever stuck.... And trust me 4x4 wouldn't have helped

ummmm drive to the conditions i use 4hi when im intown but on the highway i switch it into 2. Its not guna save you when u hit a icy patch in 4x4 if u loose it you loose it, to many people think that there invincible and dont drive to the conditions because hey its a 4x4. Ive responded to many accidents where some one has crashed because they thought 4x4 would help them on ice, one incident comes to mind is when the mother was saying "i dont understand how i rolled the jeep i had it in 4x4" when her daughter was being airlifed in stars.:nono:

Common sence goes a LOT farther then relying on a switch or knob you push.
