Nascar does not stop and fix a tire so I don't either.

Run flat 25 km. No issue no problem

I got ya beat. When I was surveying in Lloyd circa 1994 (95?) we had a Kingquad 300 4x4. Got a tear in a front tire in January. Quads and quad parts were not very common back then and I remember we couldn't get a tire. So we drove it anyways. Eventually the bead came off, but that was good...the tire filled up with snow. After a few days it hardened. We ran it like that until April. Hahaha

I've stood and watched tire guys with years of experience repair tires and still have to correct them on procedure because they are lazy fawks that will try to get away with whatever they can. like not cleaning threads...or not cleaning mating surfaces...or over torquing...I love the excuse "oh the gun is set to proper torque" after the torque wrench clicks immediately without the nut turning. back them all off, and do it again genius. that's why you lazy pr!cks don't want anyone watching

I hear torque wrenches are good for kneecapping the fawks if they don't want to use them on the tires.....

Anyone who torques wheels using a impact is a special kind of stupid. Speaking from someone who has had to use a 1" 4' flex bar, standing on it to remove nuts off a pickup before. Some people just shouldn't be working on trucks. Loosing a tire on a prius at 100 km/h is one thing, on a loaded semi is a whole different one....

....

I don't recommend using a torque wrench. Precision tool you don't want to throw it out of calibration. Grab a hammer it will destroy kneecaps.

Slow leaks on atv and emergencies are the only time I use it. I've had atv tires with small cuts in the side wall and the goop has stopped the leaks. Whatever it takes to get you going.

So.... If I am in my lifted 1/2 ton Dodge wearing my white Oakley sunglasses even though its dark out ,mirrors flipped out, fog lights on,2 sleds sticking 4 ft over the back of the deck with a snowbike in the middle and the cops are coming..... Is that an emergency enough to use this stuff in my worn out summer 4 ply tires? Well... Is it??

so, I have a tire on one of my vehicles that has a real slow leak....I need to add air every 7 or 8 days....maybe 4 or 5 in cold, cold weather.....getting to be a pain.

I was going to spray in that tire sealant but was told that stuff don't work long term and could cause an out of balance tire...shake.

I figured at least one or two guys on here may have an opinion....

I say fawk it an use it. If you listened to all the BS on here you would only ride a Doo, only drive a Gas HD truck because diesel is stupid, only ride sleds in Valemount, pay for everything with cash because everyone who finances anything is dumb.

But seriously, the gf's suv had a persistent leak for a year. Same idea, 2-3 times a month had to top it off. Tires weren't that old, busted the leaky one down and tried resealing with no luck, figured the aluminum rim wasn't great at sealing, (stupid GM rims), through 250ml of green slime in there because she drives 10km each day to work and that's as far as that thing goes %99 of the time aside from grocery getter, its an 05 with 99,000km so really whats the harm, and when it came time to do anything more the tires were going in the trash anyways.

Guess what, two years later, never had a leak since, never had a flat that needed to be repaired, the tires didn't wear out the ball joints, the drive shaft didn't fall off, the tire didn't shake so hard forcing her into a school bus of Catholic school kids killing everyone either.

Divine intervention at its best.

I have to send a thank you to moyiesledhead, I had skipped this thread but he told me it was worth reading for the entertainment value. He was right, friggin hilarious.

No kidding, I passed by it too but never though there would be so many posts on sealant. Now I see why, we should change this thread to "get it all out and insulting reply thread"
please give the boys a few more kick Rick before you shut er down....good stuff here.

I for one, check to make sure it's Tex approved before I use or do it.
Everything from Tex approved tie-down methods, Tex approved tire repairs, Tex approved loading methods, Tex approved deck or trailer loading and 1/2 ton weight overloads. 🖒
