I have a new aluminum tilt trailer that has the bar that goes across the skiis but what else do you guys do to tie down your sled???? I drilled the back beam and put a 1/2" eye bolt through the tube and tightened it from the back with a nut and washers. Then I used a tie down ratchet strap over the back bumper so it can't move sideways and takes the movement out of the suspension. On the front I put another 1/2" eye bolt in the front nut and another tie down around both ski posts and back to the eye bolt. Do you think this is sufficient or what??

Yup Wally I agree superclamps all the way!!! and not just cause we sell them. Before we started selling them we took a trip out to the mountains with a four place open, we only bought 2 superclamps for this trip because we weren't sure how they were going to work or if they would work at all. MY hubby could load all four sleds and tie down the two with the clamps and I would still be working on screwing down the first tie down! As soon as we got back to the Hat we ordered two more!

Super clamps on both my trailers and super glides the only way to go.super glides make it easy going up the tiltdeck without ripping it up from the carbides.

Superclamps all the way - well worth the money. We are going to use them in our enclosed now too. Stuffs gotta be tied down inside trailers too - regulations say so.

I use superclamps on the ski's and 2 ratchet straps on the rear of each sled (DOT regulations). I just hook the ratchets into holes in the bottom of the trailer rear bumper then up to the sleds. I use a piece of heater hose that i sliced lengthwise under each strap where it comes around the top edge of the bumper to keep it from chafing the straps.
