Wow guys, you made my ****ing day! I read the CBC article that stated all of Alberta OHV was banned, it is only the forest protection area. I did plan on hunkering down in Big Horn Dam for a few weeks, but can hit up the Athabasca area or Brazeau Dam instead and be just fine!

Will be scouting out the condition at Long Lake this weekend, will definitely post an update so others can enjoy as well.....

take a look at the banned area map, i think brazeau dam is in the banned area, as are some areas around athabasca ?

the problem as i see it, is there may not be enough enforcement officers, but there will be an abundance of general public do gooders willing to turn someone in?

You are correct looks like the area around brazeau might be out.... At least it looks like Long lake will be a go...

In the past I would see Fish Cops almost everytime I would go out to the well known crown land camping spots near trails, so I would rather play it safe and ensure its an area outside the ban.

Go on Boots or peddle bike,,, better yet,,, take a lawn chair,,, Ha...

All good...

Did you know that the average slow old dude can cover 14 to 20 miles per day easy taking your time,,, the 8 to 10 slow day might be good for us...

Now we have a reason to cross the Beaver Dam of foot,,, good way to see whats on the other side...
