That's sort of what my Ford dealer said to me and then added it was a fool proof system. I just said to him, "you better doo some reading and get caught up on the world of the thieves!"

There is a thread by JaredZacharas (sp) in Tow Vehicles about stolen trucks in Pincher Creek. Seems the thieves are pretty educated and technologically savy with computers and chit. The PATS system is good to deter the little scum bag thief but not the professional thief.

All these thefts in Revy appear to be very well orchestrated...in and gone in a minute or two. I don't think it's the local crackhead needing a fix...it sounds a lot bigger than that. People talk about back street justice when catching them, but I'd be more than nervous about the ramifications from beating the piss out of a crime ring's grocery earner. A tracking device may very well tell you where your stuff ended up, but it'll be chopped and distributed long before the cops get a warrant to enter the place. And unless you and a couple buddies want to take on a crew of gun-toting meanies, an immobilizer of some sort may be your best defense.

Only if you pay for it ... other wise they will say sorry about your luck ... my mom locked her self out of her truck and her onstar had just expired the month before and they said sorry we can not open your vehicle! !!

Ordered a five foot chain from red deer lock and safe. This chain cannot be cut with bolt cutters. Grinder, yes but would risk the noise for 30+ seconds. Easier to grab the next sled in the parking lot.

Most places that do lock smithing can order that stuff. Might also find it at a trailer hitch installer. They carry lots of accessories like that. Cost me around $50 I think. I bought a five footer to go through my rear skid and lock in the box out of the elements.

Ive said it before and ill say it again. There is organized crime in ontario.... A family member of mine owned a trucking company there and the trucks and shop would get broken into alot. Numerous police reports and so on went on for years. This family member of mine slept in the shop for a couple nights and one night he was there these thieves showed up and lets just say no one died but his trucks and shop never got broken into again.


You can pretend its low lives all you want, meth heads, or gang members but my uncle had his farm shop in rural sask broken into for years as well. Also had grain bins emptied a few times. Always thought it was fort la corn or james smith reserve natives but on night he noticed weird tire marks in his yard and one of his bins was empty. He followed the tracks to his neighbors and went in their bins and found his numbered confetti in the bin.

Set up a bait truck with a older ford, nice empty trailer go to and from a hotel on the weekend. Find some way to track the trailer and follow these guys to where they stop. Up to you if you want the cops involved or if you show up and lay a beating and never say a word after.

A cordless grinder and a zipcut wheel will remove that thing lickety split!

Question...
thinking of getting one of these to put on my truck. Would it be easy to remove? Never seen one in person. Overkill? Just getting nervous with all the recent thefts all over.

i like the idea of removing the ign fuse and the motion sensor alarm. I will have to do those things when I get a new truck
