I just wanted to say thanks for the invite...the ride was alot of fun and the guys that did show up were a wicked group to ride with..I had a ton of fun...I'm sorry I bailed out a bit early and didn't make the trip back but I'll definitely be looking to ride that area again at some point..again I had a blast...thanks again

I had a great time as well.

I had a great time and learned a lot the first time out with the RZR. Sorry couldn't make the entire trip, but I made it back with over an hour to spare for the dinner reservation my wife and I had!

The ride back alone was pretty simple... must be a bit of experience with the hills going in helped on the way back out. Going back didn't take very long and I even stopped for lunch. Looking forward to getting back there in the dry.

Big thanks to Hadley!!! Sure appreciate your tips and help. PS: I have ordered skid plates which will be on before I head out again!

PS: Anyone know how to get scratched out of lexan? Also learned not to let anyone squeegee your dry windshield when your stopped! Lots of small scratches.

Here are some pictures of our trip to Nordegg. The rain ,snow ,hail and cold temps made the trip pretty challanging in many spots. We started with 11 machines and within' about 3 hrs had 2 units turn back, it took us about 11 hrs to get there on Saturday becuase the slippery slick trail had many of us temporarly delayed in the mud and requiring a tow. A few mechanical problems delayed and slowed our trip as well. The trip back on Sunday was much better mostly sunny and the trail was a little better, also only 6 of us did the return trip which enabled us to breeze through the whole thing in about 7 hrs including a lunch break and assorted rest breaks.

Thanks to all that came out and did the ride, it turned out pretty good with minimal damages and no injuries, however a few close calls. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves despite the poor weather.

I am SO JEALOUS !!!!!!!!!! Even though the weather looked a little cold, I still wish I could have made it. (Man I hate it when work gets in the way of a good quad trip ) LOL . Hadster, where is that tressel and that small canyon that is in your last pics ??? I would love to see that . I can't wait for more of your stories and pics that you guys have of the trip. Keep the postings going !!

thanks again guys for the trip i wish i could of made it for the return trip but with a busted cv joint i dident want to lose a second one and only have 2 wheel drive thanks again guys we will be in the area again the wife said next time we will go to nordegg area and camp or motel and go out from that end and explore the rail line
as for the rear piece that came off from tree was put back on with a couple of bigger washers to fill the holes

i sure wish everyone that i go wheeling with is just as nice as this group was there is no nicer bunch of guys

agreed.. this was a great group to go riding with.. took the time to make sure no one was left out and were always there to help ya out by towing or help ya fix something that was broke. thanks for the tour and the info that was provided for the area and im sure we will be making more camping trips to this area now. sorry i could not make the trip back also, but when i loaded up the machine from the motel the engine light was still going.. going to wash it and get it checked out.. but thanks again and hope to ride with you guys again. also wouldnt mind info to get to "baldy Mountain" think it was called.. the ranger look out. see ya on the trails and i'll post pics after work.

The 2 small trestles are pretty much right in Nordegg town limits (there 3 wooden ones and the 1 steel one that where left in for historic reasons), you can cross the 2 wooden ones (other one is closer to the mine site "off limits" , and the large steel one has no deck on it, just west of Saunders.
The small "canyon" you see in the pic's is about 10 min. east of Nordegg and is all man made to make a flat surface for the train tracks.
To get up on Mtn. Baldy from the Nordegg gas bar, go out to hwy 11 turn left, then first right off the hwy. Follow the main rd. in ,at the "Y" in the road go straight through it will lead up until you see a green gate, go around that & up. At the top or anywhere along the way up DO NOT GO OFF THE MAIN DRIVING AREAS OR THE LOOKOUT PERSON WILL REAM YOU A NEW ONE. And he may call you in for a ticket, i have seen others get into trouble breaking the rules.
