Got an email from BCSF about this asking for feedback. This could really change the way crown land is used, First Nations could basically say no to anything and everything.

All the acknowledgement being on treaty land at events starting to sound familiar (ab/sk). It will happen in every province, thats what they have planned. Give it back and start a civil war, swoop in after we have all killed each other and take it all. Oldest trick in the book.

You're about 3 years too late, this has already happened in North Eastern BC. The Blueberry River, Doig River, Halfway River, Salteau, and West Moberly settlement/agreements starting in 2021 and being finalized in April of 2023 set the precedent for this to happen across BC.

It's all about money, the corruption that is coming out of this is utterly unbelievable. Effectively the FN Bands want a handout for any work to proceed on "their land". Makes it real fun if multiple contractors are competing to complete a job, effectively he/she who is willing to pay the biggest bribe wins.

Here's an example of the garbage that goes on, in 2011 the Doig River "elders" declared this area a "Tribal Park" to protect the Spruce Trees (that occur everywhere in the area by the way). If you start to look at this are on Google Earth it has nothing to do with protecting the Trees, this was a future hotspot for Oil & Gas Development. Basically this First Nation was trying to claim the land as their own and impede progress and force Oil Companies to pay them to develop the land.

We could then go on about how an agreement with these groups isn't worth the paper it is written on, at any time they may choose to renege on a deal or renegotiate terms stopping all work progress during the process.

It’s happening already, there is currently lots of first nations lands in alberta. Look what the natives did to the forest on hwy 43 north of the casino on that alexis and alexander land.
The new power plant went through in edson on their land, don’t think pockets were not lined, individuals in full head dresses at the press release.

Dunno about other areas but this has already happened in our area.. Strange us white men cannot make a go of anything but the Natives are making a go of it right from Oil and gas, forestry, and mining. If anything it has increase the work force in this area. Dunno i guess they are just smarter than the rest of us and can make it work, even their logging blocks they create smaller blocks so things will come back faster and be ready sooner for the next harvest.. Everything the natives have their hands in around here is booming with more work than they can handle..
