My grandpa used to have the old bagphone as well, I think he kept it until they quite broadcasting on analog.

You definitely couldn't get data or anything cool on analog, but that signal carried forever, even now I think you could get better phone reception back then in many places.

i have one of those it sits next to me in the vehicle and tells me everything i need to know it must be the very first model because its 61 years old

Remember some people having the bag phones. My first phone was a Motorola flip.

Just for ****s and giggles I just went out and plugged it in IT WORKS,, Unlike my 2 y/o I phone, But it doesn't have service, something that was rare with it
