T3 174 running boards

So I know there is a ton of posts on this already, but I'm trying to figure if I should buy CR Racing running boards, or some others.

Reason being, I can get a good price on the CR boards, but am unsure if they'll do what I need, and can't seem to find the info I'm looking for (believe me I've searched!)

I want to upgrade my boards more for stiffness than snow build up. IMO one of Doo biggest weaknesses and why the poos are so responsive. I could be wrong, just what I think.

By all means anyone who has upgraded their boards to CR, or any of the tube like boards please give me your input on whether you felt that they made your sled more responsive (flickability) or not.

So that being said what are your recommendations

I feel the same way. The boards were ok to start but seem to get softer due to fatigue as you put the miles on. Only downside I see to the CR boards is how wide they are and how far back they carry the width. The doo is already a wide sled and I could see the boards hanging up in the real steep stuff.

I meant to add in the original post that I rode an XP for a season which had a CR tunnel, it's boards were very similar to the add on boards they are selling now. Definitely stiffer than stock, but still room for improvement.

I would really like to get the CR boards as they will be my cheapest option, they're local, and the "grip" features aren't as sharp as the studs on the tube type boards. I run myself across the boards often enough, that I'd really rather not tear up my gear while doing it...

I had the skinz running boards on my 2012 summit and loved them. Very solid and well built and little to no flex. And were always clear of snow. The only down side is that they were a little pricey but not much is cheap in this sport.

Anybody try the Bret Rasmussen running boards. With the tunnel reinforcement they look like they'll be the stiffest boards to be found downloadfile.jpeg

Had a few xms and never had issue with xm boards

Xp boards yes for sure

Those look awesome, how much $? too bad they didn't go all the way back and incorporate into the rear bumper like the VEI ones, I would order a set right now.

I don't really like the VEI ones, or how they incorporate, just my opinion... The Rasmussen boards are some of the more expensive ones, but are the only boards with the vertical support built in (besides the WRP boards which aren't even a consideration). The vertical component of these boards should add to the stiffness of the boards and the chassis; which is what I'm after. As I said in my original post I believe that one of the reasons that the poos are so responsive is because of their chassis/boards stiffness. Something that the Doos are lacking. So the stiffer I can make my Doo the better. Snow clearing is just a bonus.

I'm actually fairly surprised that I haven't seen more talk about this here
