so, as the title says, i'm thinking of taking out the sway bar on my 06 800 151, a few guys i know have done it, say they love it and would not go back. but they do say trail riding is a little trickier. i have been told you need to cut it out to remove it on the revs, but not the xp. is there a easy way to take it out with out destroying it? any body have any input? i mostly ride in powder, not much of a trail guy- just on them long enough to get to:beer: the good stuff. thanks

Never heard of guys pulling it off that machine just XP's. Yours is stuck in that black rubber thing can't you just slide them out. Only need to have one undone for it to be disabled.

I am doing this by memory so excuse me if I forget something...

Get the front of the sled off the ground about 15-16"

Unbolt the swaybar off the a-arms, they are a little more obvious to see.

Now you can either try and twist and turn and fight it to get it out, or you can drill the rivets that hold the plastic pieces on the frame to give you some more room to manouver the bar.

Sometimes by tapping on one end while trying to wiggle it through helps.

Its not straight so you will have to twist it in a few directions to get it out.

If you running no-rebuildable shocks, its going to feel sloppy. Play with the shock settings afterwards, go up one stiffer and so on until it feels good.

It is possible to get it out without cutting it but it's super finicky. Once you get it out your never going to put it back in even if it is in one piece so why not just do it the easy way and cut it?

If you take the time to pull it out in one peice, I'll buy it off you. I have a Summit 550f that is in need of one.

ok thanks for the info, i do have the piggybak rebuildable shocks so i'll play around with those. i was told there was no way to get it out in one piece. gonna giver a try, i'll let you know how it works out goodngrubby.

curious though, why would the different shock make the diff? just higher performance/stiffer?

I pulled the one out of my boys 800 it only took about 15 mins. Make sure you pull the black plastic sleeve deal off before you try to wiggle it out.

well its out, but unless you're a good welder i don't think you'll be wanting it. i struggled for a bit, and then said forget it, got out the handy dandy fix-all grinder and out she came, literally a 15 minute job.

i don't know if you can run it disconnested, whether it will hit the lower a arm or not, could always try i suppose.

Haha. The price has probably gone down a bit?? No worries, I'll keep looking.
