Hey Deano got a couple questions for ya, we'll get this 670 thread back on track. Ok so I'm getting jugs bore 1mm over to total 686CC,s and having the head milled down, Mac's Machine in Sicamous is doing it and I will put it back together. How do I get the fuel mix figuared out, is there a chart for compression / fuel mixture? And will heat be a issue? One more thing I need a clutching guru as I should redo them now while eerythingis tore down and time is availible. Any other budget ideas ?

How much is he taking off the head??? Bore, stroke, squish, altitude they all play a factor in what fuel to run. Are you doing anything to the intake side of the engine? eg. shorty cover, carb boring, rotary valve changes? as for the clutches my recomendation is take that tra and throw it in the bush, put on a polaris primary and team secondary or polaris sec with a roller kit in it.;)

This is just my opinion but the TRA's work really well if one know's how to tune properly.. I dont like the team roller at all... For a 670 they might be alright but no where's near as good as a hcx secondary.. The tra's are good just alot more to deal with tuning wise compred to a polaris.. If you put a polaris clutch on a newer 800 doo for example in a relatively short time it will take the crank bearings out.. But it is all in what you are comfortable tuning.. This is just my two cents..

Well good buddy, say what you will about a p85 but they are lighter, run cooler, more user friendly and balanced properly should have no effect on crank bearings. That is of course unless the tra's on the 800's act as a significant external balancer;)

It's actually the damper system on them that keeps the crank bearings good.. Harmonics..

Yeah i get harmonic's GG but is the engine internally or externally balanced. Are you saying the tra on the 800 is a harmonic balancer aswell

Alls i can say is that if you put a p85 on it the cranks days are numbered in that motor and the number aint very high.. I think what it is is that the cuchion drive on the clutch takes some of the hit per say out of it when engaging and such..
