I want to stud the track on my 128” z1turbo. Looking for cross country traction. Not ice racing. I was 120 mph plus this weekend on lac st Anne and hitting blue ice areas was scary. I’d like cross those stretches full throttle with confidence. Anyone on here been down this road. How many studs? What types works best

I used to put 196 woodys gold diggers in my 600 xc back in the day. 121 x 1” track 120 up I think. That should give you an idea

Make sure you have carbides up front to match. I ran 8-10” on the front
Thanks for the input. I have woody’s dual carbides now. They have been awesome. I will check woody’s studs out also.

Snowtrax just did a bit on studs that you screw into the paddles. No idea how well they work.

Might need bulkhead protectors as well, all that weight doesn’t like to bend around drivers. I run both in my Mach Z. A compromise might be something like an ice ripper or ice attack, with factory studs. Check Royal Distributing

Have these on my 121"x 1.75. They work well but have broke/pulled a few.

I did 96. Was in your same situation, 95mph across a lake with more throttle but not enough balls. Sure helps in the brakes department too.

I had to get them to custom make mine, they didnt have the right size for a long stud and 2.52 pitch track.

I used these studs but its mostly personal preference.

Did some ice racing and some road racing

For the speed runs on the lake not doing corner's

I would go with 1 - 2 stud pattern down the center of the track 1 stud - bar, and 2 studs next track bar, then 1 stud kind of thing

less rotating mass and enough traction to get the job done

Back in the day gps'd 125 mph all day long, it seemed anything over that chit would fly apart lol

I do have a bunch of studded 121 x 2.5 pitch tracks already studded cheap
Dam. I would need a 128”. I like your idea about studs in the middle. Im looking for high speed traction and light as possible. More of a cross county style sled. I won’t be racing.
