I've seen a few guys carrying short nylon straps with loops in each end. Great for saving from lifting from your ankles. They are short enough to leave attached to the stuck sleds ski loop after a pull. Where are people picking these up?

We made a few @ home.. Went to Michaels (I saw Canadian Tire camping section has it too) and grabbed a roll of Nylon Webbing, cut it into 5' length, pulled out the sewing machine and stitched it into a loop, i wrap it around the ski and pull..

The little bit of length lets you stand up straighter and also get out of the way..

Yeah, pretty easy to make. The ones I've seen looked like light duty chokers. Something with a little bit of substance ix probably easier on the hands or to grip.

8 foot 1 inch wide synthetic sling available at Titan, Continental, or Super Slings in Edmonton. Or closest rigging supply.

Already got a tow rope lol. 2' maybe 2-1/2' seems like a good length.

Before Zac's came out with theirs, I started using a used serpentine belt. Took a box cutter and cut 1/4" inch off it (I used that for quite a few years before it broke). The result is a very strong choker and it rolls up and stores in the windshield bag. It too, can stay on the ski and does not reach the track. The best thing since sliced bread!!

People who see it are impressed. The haters all tell me their SnoBungie works better.

totally agree with Ferniesnow. I went to a local garage and they gave one. works awesome and at no cost to me that's even better. It takes up no room compared to me snowbungie

The serpentine belt sound intriguing. Convenience of use is key l think and short enough to leave attached until convenient to remove.

I was the king of the sled to sled bungee back in the day. My King Cat yanked out a lot of sleds. Sno Bunjee should have given me a commission for all the sales l probably got them. New sleds are too frail to be yanking on though that way so l retired it years ago. The hand use Bungee works ok but is too bulky.

Right on! I have two of them hanging on the shop wall. One I found on the trail while grooming and the other I bought. The belt is easy-peasy to store and yes, it doesn't have the stretch part to it but is that really necessary with the ease in which the sleds pop out of the snow these days?

I have a roll of 1/2" 2500 pound mule tape. 50' for $40.00.

Cut 5 foot lengths, tie with arff's knot and you should end up with just under 2.5 foot loop. sell for 10 bucks a pop. repeat.

I actually carry both, a snow bungee and a serpentine belt off my Ford diesel.
I find myself many times alone to get unstuck so the snow bungee works great to roll the sled over, i basically hook it to the running board while standing on the opposite side and just lay back on it. It rolls the sled real nice.
I also like to double up with the bungee and the belt if retrieving a sled out of a big hole like a tree well. I can sling the belt over my shoulder and use my whole weight to pull, while some one throttles up.
Ya the belt pack easy, rolls up tight.

This stuff is the answer. Ask your electrician buddies if they have some, it’s used to pull wires into conduits. Some gets retired after just one pull on critical jobs and can be had for free!

Mule tape is what i have used for years, get used stuff from any lineman. 5’ length of it with a loop in each end can roll it up and fits in your pocket.
I carry 2 of them and have used them to tow out dead sleds also. Wrap one around each spindle and tie your tow strap to them. It is super tough haven’t torn one yet.
For the space or weight that it is, i cant see anything working better.
