Stuck in McBride lost dess key Help

I have had customers for my Phantom Teth-Air that said this happened to them so from that point on they were never using that DESS tether again. Just remove as a security key when parked but leave it hooked to the riser when riding. Sounds extreme but getting one of these out of the back-country can be extreme too.

We had it happen on a Kuster ride. Customer pulled the rewind rope and caught the Dess key and it flew 25ft away into 3 ft of freshy. We had 12 guys looking for that key for an hour and a half. Finally were able to tow it out and my tech drove back to Revy, grabbed his dealer laptop and drove back to Carls to program another key for him as he had another group going out the next day and needed that sled. The way they are designed they work but if you lose it you better have a spare in your backpack.

Good you haven't heard of it because it is false. Each key has an unique code. Each sled can store 6 unique codes.

Xm were 6, g4 is 8

Tough lesson for someone, and wrecks there weekend. Hopefully you have some great memories from the epic day.

Harder to loose the tether key if you clip the end on to your D-ring on your jacket or clip it to your wrist. Then there doing as designed and tough to loose and it you fall of your sled it will shut off rather than taking off. I always have a spare In my backpack too. Key is 66.99 plus tax.

Pager, doesn't look like you got an actual answer to your question, but you did end up with a buttload of knowledge for what your kid should do next time!! Nothing like being told what you should have done when its already too late. Apparently my wife has multiple profiles on here and has begun lecturing you about what you should have done.

He got a answer I thought ? Nothing you can do but get another key programmed is my take .
Going forward ? Pack a spare .
Some good advice I thought ? I like the one about programming your riding group sleds all the same .

You have a point and I'm just as guilty for providing opinions what not to do and its too late now. So a solution is what you are looking for. Unfortunately the solution will require getting the sled off the mountain manually then bringing to a dealer to hook the computer up to it and get a new key. Or bring the same year computer and des key from another sled and get it back. That is a pain the butt and will require some tech knowledge. As earlier I gave Rods number from Adrenaline, he can rescue the sled bring it to town or even to the cabin, you can retrieve load up and go from there. Then the said provided knowledge can be taken, we all make mistakes, its how we learn from them that makes us smarter.

No to the lock Smith

Doo dealer with buds is needed

And yes, get a few sleds so they can all be programmed into each other's keys

But just have a spare for each sled is best

Haha threw the locksmith out there fishing to see how long it take to get some more good advise....I suspect the locksmith at GMT will be able to take care of us
