Sorry pager, feel for you but I have heard of this several times and have never heard the solution other than carrying a second key pre-programmed to work.

I hope the heli service is good there or you have some really close friends.

Pretty sure it should work switching ECM and keys. Could try every one else in your groups key and see if it works. I dunno bout the gen4 but the xm only had like 12 codes available so you had a one in 12 chance to get it lol
Good lesson for everyone to go get a second key.
The group we usually ride with we all got our keys programmed to the same code and we all had a spare for just such an occasion. Could rob one off any sled or grab any of buddies spares.

I know this doesn't help you, but I don't think I have ever bought a sled without a second key,.. I bet that $50 sounds really good right about now.

Spare keys are a little more than $50 bucks but well worth it. The above posts about some keys fitting your sled is true. They only have so many codes programmed but you may get lucky. Sorry for the bad luck.

You can get up to 8 keys programmed to one code is the way it used to be. I have never heard of there being only 12 codes available on BUD's? This is news to me. When it first came out they told us it was a random code and no code was the same. Unless its changed but I haven't heard about that?

When we got ours all reprogrammed that's what the tech at the dealership told us while we were having coffee was there was only about a dozen pre program versions. Maybe it's different if it's reset after? We had about 6 or 8 on one code so maybe you're right.

Good you haven't heard of it because it is false. Each key has an unique code. Each sled can store 6 unique codes.

I have had customers for my Phantom Teth-Air that said this happened to them so from that point on they were never using that DESS tether again. Just remove as a security key when parked but leave it hooked to the riser when riding. Sounds extreme but getting one of these out of the back-country can be extreme too.

Could be Aaron. Haven't been on BUD's since 2013.
