It is amazing how a slab of snow can hold together. These are pics I took at different dates of the same shed.

My roof does the same. It is called glide when it goes straight out and creep when it bends. Sometime just a small cut with a shovel will take the whole thing down. It always good to pay attention to roofs or how the snow comes off your windshield.

Kool. As the snow piles up it squishes the air out and gets compacted to make a hard base. Then it rolls. Think avalanche. warn/cold makes layers. I operate a groomer and the concept is to roll the snow over to remove air than pack down to make a hard base. So 8-10 hrs latter is solid. Heck you can cut blocks out and make an igloo. have fun.

Impressive.
My roof does the same thing, no stops on the steel [screw heads only]...slides off when it gets warm out.
We don't get half that snow...

This is a low snow year for the yard. Lots of rain. I think thats why its sliding early. Usually doesn’t slide like this till March April. Have had my grand kids sliding down off it in may.
