Robbing Peter to pay Paul seems to work. But Peter is so dam far in debt right now not sure how much more they can rob from him, peter has not been paying his bills for years now. Peter=taxpayer.

Sure wish I would have bought BA and PPL last week, would've doubled my money already.

I see examples of this every week, wish I had a crystal ball....
$5000 in Amazon stock in 2006 would be worth $300K today $362K at the high
$5000 in Netflix stock in 2006 would be worth $590K today $645 at the high

There is always money to be made, I hold 27 different stocks that I believe could produce similar gains over the next decade OR they could disappear. If you had asked someone back in 2005 to choose between Cablevision Systems which produced a one year return of 85% and Netflix (a mail order movie service at the time) almost no one would have chosen Netflix - Cablevision ceased operations in 2016 & Netflix is the global leader.

I'm still buying lottery tickets so that someday I won't even care about this chit....

Yeah I definitely see what you mean, hind sight is 20/20. I did that with seven gen stock this morning, wasn't going anywhere so sold to put money elsewhere, literally 5 minutes later it started to climb.

Oh well, win some you lose some.

I'm in 7G - Got my wife in @ 2.30 a few weeks ago.... but I got in quite a while ago at $10 and $8.... gonna take a long time to get that back....

Nice to see some green though - my portfolio as a whole is up 14% today, 22% over the past 2 days. But I need a lot more of those days to get back into the green.

It will be a awhile before everything comes back. I'm just day trading now, I don't think it's worth the risk long term yet, personally I believe the gains the last couple days are temporary. The US will see widespread lockdowns yet, I'm still not believing we have seen the bottom, regardless of the $2 trillion stimulus package from the US.

Your probably right, if I were to sell everything right now I'm up about $4k over Monday but I'm comfortable with everything I have long term AND if I were to sell today it will keep going up..... I'm telling you I can single handedly control the market - just not to my own advantage.

LOL

I know how you feel. I'm still not good at it by any means, but when I first started I managed to almost always buy high and sell low. Best thing I did was buy Canfor stock, a couple weeks later there was an offer to take it private and the price skyrocketed, I made back everything I lost the previous months that day.

Nice timing on that one. I wouldn't even own Canfor stock when I worked for them.

I don't have many stocks anymore, nor a lot of money in them. But some I bought long ago, and sold most of before now, did really well.
A few standouts were Westjet, Raytheon, Petro Canada, and Amazon. With only a couple of hundred thousand dollars left in stocks now, I don't pay too much attention to them anymore.
Let them ride along till I die, and my daughters can have what is left.
