Im buying a sled and i dont know if i want a 162" track or a 144" track.i will be in the powder alot and will do some climbing i am just getting into the sport but know i will climb more and more as time goes on. People have told me that a 162 will be too hard to turn around and ill regret it. but other people have said thet i want longer cuz ill bea able to float better on the deep stuff. all imput will help thanks alot.

Bah 162 is better then 144 if you know you will be climbing. Ask "Quaqmire" on here. He went from a 144 to a 164. He doesn't get stuck nearly as much anymore haha.

You will regret NOT getting the longer track.

Why not just get a 151?

In deep powder and climbs you wouldnt notice a difference turning, but you will notice a huge difference not getting stuck. 20" more is 10" more on the ground (I know I didnt account for pi, just forget about it everyone. It's an estimate)

But yea, 162 > 144

I have a 144, a 154, and a 162, you can barely tell the difference between the 154 and the 162. I take it in the trees lots and no issues. I was told the same thing, my daughters ride the 141 and the 162, they switch back and forth and no issues. I would go with the 162 for sure...

162 stuck vs. 144 stuck is prolly 3-5 more pulls to turn around. after a few runs you will figure out that gettin stuck straight up always sucks!! doesnt matter how long! all depends on your riding style.

I had had a 151 on my last sled and now I have a 162 but so hard to compare them since there is 150 hp difference. but my dad has a 144 in a 700 RMK, but he is also 76 and doesnt do extream hill climbing. if your going to climb....... go as big as your power allows! what sled and engine are you planing for?

go big, i've ridden alot of different sizes and so far its the 163 and such that i find are most suitable for deep mountain riding. and thus, i went and bought one.

im a fan of the 144 length, but getting the highmark doesn't interest me. i would say get a 151, chances are you'll buy a new sled in the next year or two anyway.

Every time I have purchased a new sled I have always wished I had bought the longer track. Whether it was going from 136 to 144 or 144 to 151 . I still have not learned because I have a 154 and wish I had bought the 163, maybe someday I will learn.

It depends if your going to be climbing in the steep and deep all the time 162 is the way to go if you want good all round sled i would go with a 151 or 154 they climb well easy to manuvoer.

The wife has the Rev with the 144 and I have the Rev with the 159. Every now and then I ride her sled just to make sure everything is okay with it, you know how women can be with mechanical stuff....anyway, I hardly notice any difference in handling on the trail, but when we get into the deeper. steeper terrain there is no comparison. The 159 is great! I highly recommend going with the longer track if you plan on being off trail at all. As mentioned above, the 151 would be a nice comprimise.

Take it from this guy rode with him way to long and he still has the run it till shes stuck.

I like your thoughts, stuck with longer track, rather than stuck with shorter track. Love my 162, don't get stuck as much, and take offs are nicer, no more trenches while gassing it lol.

Go 174, like the ladies say longer is better:d. I used to think 144 was good enough but I have wised up over the years and now I've worked my way up to a 174. Seriously if your getting into the sport 162 would be good. It is a pretty forgiving track length especially in the deep snow.
