Sportsman 800 Front End Sag

On sportsman 800 I installed a winch and I notice now thefront sags down. I have heard of people putting the Ranger springs in or EPI as well as highlifter. I will probably end up putting a 4 gallon flat pack for fuel on the front rack as well. I want to keep the front up but DON'T want to sacrafice the ride quality Highlifter springs have like a 130# rate and polaris rangers have 128 I believe and EPI's are 120# I think stock is only 90# correct me if I'm wrong on this information I want to get the job done but not break the bank as well. Any suggestions or opinions?? Thanks in advance

By the way the fuel pack might NOT always be on depending on where im at.

best way to go is Polaris HD springs. they are identical to the ranger springs but are only $50.00 for the pair. they keep the front end up even with alot of weight and don't destroy the ride quality. doesn't matter what hd spring you put on you will sacrifice some of the ride quality.

I have read about this topic on other forums and some people talk about not changing springs but just putting a 2" spacer in the stock spring they claim it doesnt sacrafice the ride and it hold the front up well. But by doing this don't you lose some of your springs travel and with the spring being compressed some all time won't they eventually get weak and sag like it does now? they claim the spacers are only $20 for a pair but I am wondering if thats a good route to go or if they are just delaying the inevetable spring change? Anybody have experence with these and what do you think?

by going with a spring spacer the spring will get stiff for a while but will eventually just sag again.

i have the same quad i put on the tm2 progressor shock adjusters and took the sag right out.it has 3 setting and i use the 2nd one gave me about 3/4 inch more ground clearance will probally get another 1/2 in or more when i put it on the third setting when i need it.it basically just makes the front shocks adjustable like the rears.front box is full of tools plus have a koplin flat gas tank on front works great.97 bucks at polaris dealer.

Sounds intresting... Did the shock adjusters take any modifications to install? Or how did it affect the ride quality when you stiffened them up if at all? Also how much did they cost if you don't mind sharing. I hear ya there the fuel pack is a must on this machine as it only has a 4.13 gallon tank to start compared to most 5 gallons. Plus its not the best in the fuel effecenciy department but there is no secret to power!

So I called around today and it sounds like I'm going to go with the pre load adjusters from polaris. I hope they work as good as they sound. anybody else had these? how long have you had them and has the spring itself stood the test of time using these adjusters? They look basically the same as the TM-2's

hey i bought mine from a dealer to.so they should be the tm2s and i have 2500 kms on mine and still going strong.i use the middle setting for trail riding and the 3rd setting for when we go mudding for that extra little bit of ground clearance.you should also get a spanner wrench with them in the box.

Thats good to know. I have 2 inches less clearence in the front than I do in the back! It sucks riding in mud and snow... it acts like a plow on the front! I figured this would be best cause then I can adjust according to the kind of riding I will be doing as well as my load on the machine.
