So i have a twin pair of arctic cat m 1000's. one is 153 and one is 162,both have relatively identical mods. the 153 has a bdx intake, speedworks y-pipe and jaws can, 2 wheel kit on th rear and that is it. the 162 has an slp intake, jaws y-pipe and mbrp can as well as the 2 wheel kit on the rear.

Both have stock tracks arctic cat tracks , drivers , gears and such. Both suspensions have been measured and set up as a mirrior image to the t, now this is where things go south and get crazy.

The 162 will walk all over the 153 boondocking in the trees and when we come out of the bush and point them up the hill the 153 will wipe arse on the 162, now i am not a scientist be any means but something here is messed up.

anyone have any suggestions on this as it does not make any sense to me at all?

any input would be greatly appreciated as i am at a complete loss here.

Maybe your getting more ski lift on the 153 so you have less resistance when your pulling a hill. And the 162 has more low speed flotation so that might be why it's better in the trees.

I agree with the track speed. You have more flotation in the trees with the 162 and then it takes more grunt to spin that track at speed.

clutch set up would be my guess, both pulling same rpm? Comparing side by side drag or high marks?
