So was out again this weekend put about 90 more miles on the Fix.Was running good then went into det-mode,did this about 5 times.Called PMS and talked to Shawn, found out I should be running the April flash and I've got the Jan one. Also told me to plug off the solenoid for the exhaust valves, then they will open sooner and smoother, also will lower exhaust temps. So will regroup and go again next weekend.:d

when plugging the exhaust valves you may have to change the springs to the pink ones. Its kinda varies. some guys do some guys don't. you will know if your sled has a spudder or miss.

Hey Timbo, how long did it take for you to get the kit once they shipped it? Just curious, PMS called me yesterday and said the are shipping it out this morning. Also, do the cylinders have to honed for the new pistons?

About 4or 5 days, you can call or e-mail them for a tracking# and track on USPS and Canada Post on line right to your post office.Yes you need to get the cylinder honed, auto rebuilder or your dealer can do it.

Does anyone know if the "the fix kit" will work on the 800 without the update?

you can run this kit with the updated head and flash or the 08-09 head and the 08 mapping.

Thanks Timbo
So the april flash is no good for a sled without the updates
Also do you know what they honed the cylinders out to?

Does your sled have the updated pistons and head?If so you can run the fix with the April reflash. Some people are running the old high compression head and the 08 mapping.Hope this helps. The kit has the Wiscoe specs included.

Got my "FIX" kit the other day. Tore the engine down today, good thing, found scoring on both pistons down near the bottom of the skirts on the intake side. I kept looking through the exhaust valve ports and so no scoring. Just so people are aware, all the wear could be on the intake side. Will put up some pictures if I get a chance, working all weekend. Cylinders getting honed monday, put back together tuesday. Will update once its running.

Well got to put some more miles on the FIX today run awesome.Ended up putting 73.6 grams of weight in it 84mph @ 8150 rpm. Now that it's broke in
I think I'll go with the 09 high compression head and the 08 fuel map.:d

Sounds good timbo. I am putting mine back together tuesday. You have no power commander? Should be interesting to see how mine goes when its done. I have a power commander and with the old oem pistons it would really scream.:d

Got my engine back together yesterday with the fix kit. Engine is alot quiter, no ring noise like the oem pistons made. Very responsive, more snap on the bottom end. Only ran it about 20 minutes. Will report back after I put some real miles on it. So far so good!:d

Did anyone take a exact measurement of the spacer plate before installing, just curious on how much it is raised.

no, I never did measure it. Was pressed for time to get it back together. I heard about 1/4 inch, but come to think of it now it might be a little more.

ok, got back from blue river last night. Awesome trip, awesome snow! Sled ran extremely hard and very well except on the trail up or when holding the throttle in the mid range the check engine light would flash and go into limp mode. I do have a power commander but with the higher compression now, the dynotech map is still too lean in the midrange. No big deal, I have a egt guage I still have to install then play with my map a little more. My sled is a 155 and was outclimbing 2 new 800 pros, 155's, believe it or not, there were 5 witnesses who saw this all weekend! made me feel pretty good considering all the problems these sleds have. Timbo- I put the stock helix back in for the mountains but kept the titanium spring in from my clutch kit(not sure of number off hand) and was running 62 gram weights, tried 64's at first. The "fix" appears to be working very well so far, have around 175 miles on it so far. For anyone who is thinking about doing this, well worth the money, do it now before the skirts break off the factory pistons!!:d
