Do any of you utilize an RV, heated trailer, or wall tent for sled-ventures? I'd be interested to see your set ups, and hear your story. I'm hoping this year we can walltent camp at one of our mountain lakes, so we can get a couple good days of riding in, and some ice fishing.

Thank you!

Never sledding but do a winter ice fishing trip with my wall tent every winter. I love staying in the tent. Small wood stove keeps you warm! Stayed in them as cold as -30. Nice high cot to stay off the ground is key along with a good sleeping bag. Small self igniting torch is good to have to start fires nice and fast during the night if your fire burns out.

Even if your cot is off the ground, you still need/should use an insulating mat as a thermal barrier between the sleeping bag and cold air underneath. Makes a huge difference.

I never use one and don’t get cold. But I do need to flip my sleeping bag over to dry it out. It gets condensation under it after a night or to. Maybe it would help with that

I do some snowmo camping. it's good times. I'll put up some pics when I get a chance.

I've stayed in my camper, 4 place trailer, alpine cabin's and under the stars.

Alpine cabins are the best way IMO and snow caves about the worst lol...

Great description. I can feel the ambience in a cozy tent with the fishing hole right there to fish in. So cool!

I gotta 1984 20 foot RV that I gutted, fully spray foamed, and put back together. It’s all heat traced and tank heaters, you can poop and shower in it in any weather,it can also serve as a LOA machine.Winter camping can be a bit tricky but if it were easy then everyone would be doing it.

Sorry to highjack thread momma.
Quick question.
Has anyone ever done a heli assisted sled camping trip?

Have often thought about staying at the Keystone cabin and getting supplies airlifted in.

This was in the Alpine.
Must of been the skiers.
Looked like a mint setup.

Right on, some of those skiers are pretty ambitious. Camping in the Alpine is a lot of fun, but is a lot of work though.

Even just staying in a alpine cabin is work, bringing the camping stuff in on sleds with a skidder takes a bit of effort.
