Snowcheck or Not?

Hey guys. Was talking to some buddies that normally snowcheck new every year or every other year today. With this year being a right off weather wise and snow wise alot of guys are putting on 1/4-1/2 the miles they normally do in a season on there sleds. Polaris has already made known they are coming with some new product and so far no new news on Doo, Cat and Yamaha. The question is, if there aren't many changes for 2016 will you be updating your sled next year or hanging tight another year? Let me know what you think no matter what brand you ride. Cheers!:)

I am seriously thinking of checking a 16 Poo, but with the prices of new 14's & 15's. I'm kind of torn........ But it is time for me to upgrade the Iguana ;)

The new 16 looks pretty good but if you can save some serious coin thats definately a consideration that is hard to overlook Trashy. Don't let those big rebates on the 14-15's slip by though before its to late if you go that route.:beer:

There just isn't enough incentive to snow check, the snow check program is good for the dealers and manufacturer, there are always "snow check" leftovers so why give cash in advance to secure one ? Now if the manufacturer's would actually build a limited build "special" sled then maybe, but right now the snow checks are no better, I will continue to buy sleds in the spring at a discounted price like I have done since 2001

Haven't checked one since 2008 .
Waste of money IMO as if you want one you can always find one .
It's just marketing and sales that get folks all excited about the snow check.
I like the slightly used ones . Lol

I think they should follow Ford/Dodge/Chev....and build a limited number say 500 units of a factory mod type mountain sled that is lighter etc.....then maybe....to be another banana sled and pay top dollar makes no sense

I like your idea Claude. BRP talked about this years ago but nothing has ever come of it.

I have never snowchecked either and have bought a tonne of new sleds. I dont see the point. Guy can get a way better deal on an SP and use the money you save to throw some real shocks on it. BRP is kind of figuring this out a bit though I guess with the T3s only being available via snowcheck. The 4 year warranty is a nice perk too.

Freerides used to be a snowcheck only too.

Smoking in season deals on kijiji if you look for them. That also deters the snowcheck.

Just like Clode, i'm not a cookie cutter rider, thus why i ride my moded beast. It has nothing to do with what is popular and working, but when i look at a large group of sled's at a cabin mine stand's out as DIFFERENT and not by wall paper pasted on it.
I have only snowchecked one sled EVER, a BRP product and it was a POS and i lost a whole lot of coin on it.
Now i look at a proven base chassi and design and build MY OWN sled from there.
The 14-15 Polaris Pro are in my sight's with the saving's to be had this year. But i have also looked at the Cat M9000 and M8000, 15 model's, saving not nearly as good though.

I've really debated keeping my current sled this year like you said I have half the miles I regularly put on and my season has been total garbage. I can't see skidoo releasing anything to crazy and with the rest of February forecast well above 0 the seasons a write off for me. I'm always down for a new color though so I will likely still pick up a new one. Erg this is making me mad LOL

I'm torn as well. Just sold my M1000 but still have a back up sled. Loved my 3 days at Kusters camp on a T3 174 but there are such good deals on 15 cats and doos and poos. Not sure what do to so waiting to hear what doo announces on the 23 and cat on the 1st pro the 2.

I'm not snow checking .
I have an old 11 Pro and I can still keep up with the new models Pros.
Till it blows up, I don't think there a new sled in the near future.
Unless there's something very eye catching .

I'll be hanging on to my T3 for another two seasons. The plan is to sell it with a years warranty left. What will replace it, I'm not sure yet. It might have two skis it might have one.

No plans to snow check again .I,m glad I did this year as I had a custom order RMK 163 with clickers, color combination of my choice, e start,painted tunnel, rails, boards.Sled was $12,049,3 years of warranty. I have a total of 2 rides,110 miles this year. Almost ready to give up on the season, but it's full of shell gold I got to burn it off.Worst snow year I've seen, just too mild.

I'm on the fence...I have a year of warranty left on my 14. if there was something that really was appealing perhaps but like a few other I prefer to build my own.

since we ride both elevations I'm actually considering building a maching for home base elevation because this year has put few miles on my xm.

I have ridden the T3 and I am blown away by how well it literally does EVERYTHING better than my 13 does. Having said that, I also got to compare a stock 174 T3 against an 860'd 174 T3 and I'd like to see Doo give us a little more stock HP.
you can argue all you want about wether or not it's needed, but I don't believe any man would say no to an extra inch on his c&$k
My season is likely over due to a couple broken ribs so it makes my decision easier. ( the Percocet May be clouding my judgement as well lol)
