to answer your question, Honestly: I would start by trying to find out where he was, grab a long tree branch to use as a probe to try and fun him, and start digging like crazy as I do always have a shovel on my gas rack. but you never really know how you react to something like that until you're in that situation. but thats the best I can think of, but again; not in that situation.

Next. Ur shovel is never on Ur sled unless u have 2. Cause if Ur sled get caught but u don't now how ya going to shovel concrete setup snow. Not with Ur hands.
Just stay out of the hills with unless u have the gear.

Joey, you seem to travel east-west a lot from your other posts. Make you a deal, you take a proper av course and I will give you my spare probe and beacon.
