Snow Conditions in Smithers, 2010-11

There was some issues with the last thread and I was removing them, and for some reason the entire thread was affected. Sorry for the hiccup.

Was up Sinclair today.... awesome snow conditions!!!!

No.... we got as far as the lake and then the weather went bad.

Anyone been up the Pine Creek trail yet?

Yup. We busted through on the 20th and went up the Outrun to the skihill. That was some crazy bushwhacking. We stayed at a cabin on the skihill and then rode back the next morning. Superfun!! Someone bucked up some trees and threw them on the trail to keep quadders out, which made for some interesting times climbing back out the trail. A little more snow and it won't be a problem.

Hey did you guys get hit with this same huge winter storm the we did here? If you guys did the only word i can think of to describe what the mic would be like is WWOOWW!

we got a pretty decent dump over the last 2 days, today is suppose to be nice followed by 3 days of snow. My coffee pot is on, just waiting for my eggs then we are heading out. will post some pics of how the day was.

A bunch of us went up Sinclair yesterday.... but was disappointed with the snow. I was hoping for a couple feet of fresh but I don't think there was much more then a foot. The top was very wind blown. The weather was fantastic, but cool, not a lot of inversion yet. Here are a couple pics....

A few guys tried to get into the mic but the weather was to bad and the road has 3' of powder on it. Hopefully we can get it graded this week sometime. I went for a rip up the Dome and there was only about a foot in the parking lot... but up top there was up to 4' in the medows!! Was awesome!!! We are expecting more snow this week....:d When are you back here?

Anyone know what the conditions up the microwave or sinclair are like right now? Coming up Saturday 4 a few days.

Haven't been to the microwave or sinclairs in a while, but hit the Onion a week ago. Spring "hero" snow is in full effect out there, getting pretty hard. Still lots to ride though. You might find some softer snow up the Sinclair.

Just wanted to say a huge "Thank You" to the Smithers Snowmobile Association and all of the people who volunteer to make those mountains friendly for the little peeps like us. It is a privilege for us to buy a membership and enjoy the fruits of your labor when we come out to visit. Perhaps one day my family and I will have the honor of returning the favor...
