There are signs all over in calgary saying "slower traffic keep right". I'm not sure if people are illiterate or just ignorant.

then you have the trucker doing 100 in the slow lane and the other trucker passing in the fast lane doing 110, 3 miles later if there is no hills he either passes or backs off

Great post. I started something like this not long ago. I though I was the only one ready to shove the car in front of me off the road. Really if someone is behind you it doesn't make you the winner, it just makes you an a$$hole!
stay to the right...or your creating problems on the road and that makes you dangerest.

everyone who get a license should have to sign a form stating they understand left lane of for faster moving/passing traffic only !

I remember a few years ago I was rushing a friend to hospital (apendix ) and some A hole thought it was funny to block left lane on the henday !

on the other hand many times I get some Dick tailgating me when I am in the left lane passing cars ( just not passing fast enough for him ) or someone has me blocked and I am not tailgating them

That is sort of the rub isn't it? I figure the left lane is OK if you are passing or there is heavy traffic BUT when someone is overtaking you, GTF out of the way. If people just used cruise control and maintained a steady pace, made sure the left lane was available to pass, it would be a much more pleasant drive on divided highways.

The older I get the more I accept 80% of drivers are clueless and that combined with a cell phone in hand makes it worse. Not to mention a lot of the New Canadians can't read English.

Real fun is... when your in passing lane on a mountain pass, and trucker pulls in front of you,... forgetting he has a second trailer....and your next to it.

I would guess that each of us have "pet peeve"s as they call them when driving, all we can do is expect the un expected and arrive at our destination intact.

When I was younger it frustrated me when things slowed me down, then after logging on many miles I leave early and show up early.

Get there when I get there and let others do what their doing since I have no control of what they are doing or thinking.

It has too work out since our older parents are still driving "doing the best they can", and younger kids are trying too "get up to speed" on how things work.

I for one allow for this since its my job too work with what we encounter too the best of my ability.

We all know that something is always going on at over-passes, all intersections have activity going on when there is more then 1 unit in the area, Ha.
Big truck, small car or motorcycle is all the same too me as I fit in where I can, and allow others too do their thing.

I just finished a on-line defensive drive thing that had nothing too offer me since it talked about folks with frustration, anger, pet peeves, and issues on the road. It said nothing about a calm relaxed driver like my self and many of the others that I work with,

I say too my self when sitting behind the wheel or handle bars everyday, relax and enjoy the ride, do the best I can too let others do what they are doing, fit in where I can, and allow time for others too fit in where they can. Leave early for work, have a coffee when I get there, and start all over in the next unit I drive in the day.

I don't believe in the word "stress" since its a fake word made up by humans for an excuse too blame others for their own doings, stress leads to frustration, anxiety, irritability, and an early grave.

Start your day early all the time.
Plan well ahead at "everything" we do. Live life full, don't let things take away from who you are, stay focused, expect things too not work out 100% "some" of the time.
Many of us in America "Canada/USA" spend some amount of our time behind the wheel.
So make the best of it since we can't be that person behind the wheel of the other vehicle.

As above,,, fit in where we can and get too where we are going works every time.

Pal Don at being more wrong then right.

Absolutely Lem. Many people are the primary source of their own frustration through P.P.P. They leave too late so will never get to work on time so "everybody out of my way."

In balance with that are the other who aren't in a hurry but still refuse to offer the common courtesy of moving over to let a faster vehicle through. Both are irritating groups. Can't really pick to one that I find more annoying...

Looks like we have a nice stitch and bitch going in here. I'll add my complaint of today.Driving on a four lane highway during daylight but in scattered rain conditions. Sometimes cloudy, sometimes raining, sometimes pouring buckets. I feel that having the lights turned on while on the highway is a good practice, especially in these conditions. Makes it a lot easier to keep track of traffic in front of me when everyone's tail lights are on.

Good point.

Auto headlamps are good.

Maybe next will be tail lights on with daytime running lights
