Re: Slide Kick ice scrathers?????

Wow, that was quite a rant. I am currewntly using the old style of scratchers bt saw a sled with these cable type and thought I might give them a try. I also have had some of the same issues as you with the old style scratchers and feel your pain. Thanks alot for your information. Maybe the more expensive sliders are the way to go.:D
The hyperfax doesn't help out with engine cooling though.

Looks like the new 09 Dragon comes with rail mount ice scratchers.... But they drop a set of wheels in return, They claim 4 lb weight loss. I don't think a set of wheels weights in at 4 lbs ( From looking at the 08 wheels).

Re: Slide Kick ice scrathers?????

I never had any luck with any type of scratchers. You have to always remember to put them down. When they are down you forget to put them up when you jump off the trail ( or engage reverse) . On ice ( when you need them ) and you sled goes sideways around a corner or you spin a 360 or 180 degress and end up traveling backwards they dig in and tend to fip the machine. Or when you tip your machine (to clean your track ) for whatever reason - the scratchers are always in the way - whether they are up or down. They are sharp as hell ( after some use) and they could poke a hole into your track , boot, foot , or your buddies boot. They are just a plain pain in the butt. Use carbon fiber hi-fax and dive into the deep snow on the edge of the trail or road from time to time and you will not miss using or buying the scratchers. I took mine off and I would be happy to give them away for free (come and get those pieces of junk off my yard) .

+1...............ive got a set for sale, nearly staked myself to a tree with one...........has anyone windowed there track further?? Saw a RMK with 1" holes drilled in the centre section......................would like to hear if anyone has done this mod. Thanx
