Was in Vale on weekend and Saturday night the parking lot looked like it was about a third less trucks than normal, but I am comparing it to the family day weekend which could be way out to lunch. Towns could be hurtin a bit. There must be something in the works though. Esso station, Subway, and a timmies looks like well on the way. Gettins tim's you must have something goin on.

seems to me its been on par. possibly busier if anything......what determines the rider density in valemount isnt necessarily the economy so much as the snow levels in alberta. you basically couldnt ride a snowmobile in alberta this winter so head west!

i think it looked less busy because its been snowing so damn much everyone is out of fuel and back in town before noon!

We are down about 30% in ridership, accommodation and service usage. I think people are being more choosy this season with their trips as they may not be able to make as many of them and are trying to hit the good conditions with the few trips they have. The town is feeling it for sure.

Just my opinion but around Fernie area I would say there is more sledders coming in to the area. I don't have any actual stats but I sure seems more busier every year and I'm been here for a lot of years

Last year was a record year for Sicamous but it seems quieter this year on Sundays. Maybe people are heading home sunday instead of monday and making it a shorter trip?

We were around the cabin on Allen on Sunday and seemed to be a few but like Bnorth said might be going home on Sundays. I was just surprised with the great snow conditions and perfect temps that ridership would be down on that weekend.

Boulder is a good mountain, but too busy. Barely ride there any more. I like Valmount, haven't been there in a couple years though.
might have to make a trip up there and switch it up. Less people sounds like a positive to me.

It was a hit and miss for areas in Alberta this year.
Areas that I ran my quad tracks at had lots of snowmobile trails.

Southern AB & BC seen alot of snow, so many Red Deer and Calgary folks head that way.

If the hotel, trail pass, and lack of jobs in Alberta factor in, then one might think that this "could" be a factor.

My pals are doing the spring ride only as they have covered alot of BC over the 20 years. Now they take in the odd outtings if the forecast looks good.

I'll be taking on the Shoe-Swap very soon as work winds down.

Mostly wild-cat areas as its nice to not be around too many humans.

I hope the towns and hamlets have a good season as its nice to have them intact with all their services they offer.

I would say Revelstoke is about as busy this year as I have ever seen it combination of good snow and the success of the ski hill even the much less traveled areas have seen people. Twice this year I went to book rooms and the only place left was best western plus at $300 a night. 10 years ago we used to book hotels on the way down I'd say business is that town reap the benefits of this.

Hey Trollcat
Do you live in Dease lake?

What are the snow conditions like up your way this year?
I want to bring a group up there for a week

Have stayed at Bear Paw Ranch with Tony & Doris a couple times in the summer over the last two years

How does a person get linked up with a guide up your way

Any teaser photos to share of some of you areas

Thanks Birdie
