Sledding Budget for '08-'09?? How much?

Just wondering if most of you have thought about how much you are willing (and able) to spend this coming season on sledding? Our sport aint gett'n cheaper. Fuel, insurance? Economic instability?

What do you think you'll spend this year?

I plan on taking two or three trips to the mountains, Yellowstone and Valemount, at least. Hopefully more. I normally ride about 1500 miles / year. Most within a 3 hour radius of Edmonton... Athabasca, Calling Lake, Buck Lake South etc.

My budget is around $4500.00 / year not including sled insurance or repairs. The cost of trailers and insurance etc. also is not included.

Can't imagine what some of you dudes spend? Please elaborate

I couldn't understand the thread.......if you bought a new sled do you add in the cost...if you didn't do you depreciate the cost of it....same for truck and trailer...Sorry to hijack....but I still dont know what you want to know

tell us everything sled cost and all other expenses except insurance
include 20% extra to help me outI am over budget

last year was expensive, did a lot of mtn R&D for BRP...unpaid of course. not including cost of sled, prolly around 5K. this year maybe 3-4K...mebbe more. I try not to think about, much to the disappointment of the wifey

Including everything.... even interest on your financing, depreciation of you sled, the cost of weed? Make a list? Can't wait to hear your imput?

all i can say is that i hope it's not like last year 7km= $7000 ...........new trailer,sled blew up twice in one trip,hotel, etc..... and 1100 for ABS backpack, wifey wanted to make sure dads around for my son(11months) hopefully only be around 5000 thanks to company taking care of fuel for the trips.

Trip out to mtn's in Dec, then hopefully 4 more trips to the mtn's between Jan - June. We have a shutdown in may and I thought it would be cool to go to Stewart in June.

Hopefully the sled runs good.

I guess it's a month to month thing. And promising to take my wife shopping in Vegas in spring......haha

I don't like to budget, I prefer that my visa bill be a surprise. I know a fella in GP he put on 8000km on his 08 XP. I can't imagine what he spends on fuel and oil along.

I have three major trips planned that involve 5 days each to Revy plus almost every weekend to Fernie..I have never budgeted yet, I run until the spring and usually find myself "too broke to pay attention".
