You will be fine on the trail without using your brakes to get to the cabins. Take it easy around corners and you will be fine. Not sure I even ever use my brake on the trails. Have fun.OK next question. This isn't going to be a hardcore riding day.... Is the morrissey trail to the cabin something that I'll use a lot of braking or can I rely on engine braking? I got the sled running but I don't have reverse, brakes are mush and no grip warmers. If there are steep areas that we need brakes for then (where engine braking isn't enough) I'll just scrap the idea of riding and go snowboarding instead.

Just go snowboarding man. You need brakes to ride a snowmobile on a trail with other people on it.
stephensons are great guys and have a ton of parts around. Helped me out many years ago.Yes, I know these guys work on pros also! I have heard good things. Try them.
