I'm shopping for new insurance since I was just quoted 1500$ per year on a stock sled and after I turbo it it goes to 3000$ seems crazy to me, so who are you insured thru and what are you paying for full coverage?

Last year for a 2014 XMX 163 I was paying $394 for full coverage with a $250 deductable through AMA (which was by far the cheapest I found). I just got my renewal notice in the mail from AMA and this year it is $604 for the same coverage. So roughly a 50% increase from AMA. Most quotes I got last year were in the $600-800 range. I haven't checked this year yet.

$400 approx per year for my 06 rev. check what coverage your actually getting though. my sled caught fire last year... caliper seized... was told that they do not cover mechanical failure under my fire and theft. not sure if this is normal?

I pay $550/year on mine, full coverage, even if buddy is hauling it and loses it off the sled deck it will be covered. But they are also under the assumption it is stock.

I use TD Insurance, full coverage. app $360.
But I pay for the basic liabilty, fire, theft, app $200/year. Then when riding season starts, I kick in the collision for the remainder of the policy.(+ $160). A lot of the policies have the seasonal rate adjustment, (like Nov-April). If you're worried about saving a couple bucks, play the calender game, and don't start collision till you're actually riding.
Saved me about $100 last year.
