I have to get a sled deck for this coming season thanks to the City of Calgary bylaw dept. - trailer parked in same place ,in alley, for 12 years, then a ticket and tow notice same day; not possible to keep on property, so I will need a deck. I have a Ram 3500 short box; what deck brand? what length? I would still like to put the truck in the garage. Extension? Beavertail??? Thanks

I have a crosstrax and love it. I got the 6'6" for my dura-max and the extension as well. With out the extension in I can still park my truck in the garage. The ramps are 2 piece and I think they are over 11' long when put together.
I have a 6 inch lift and the approach is not bad at all.

We love our Cross Trax deck! In the summer we use the deck without the extention, deck sits just inside the back bumper so we have no issuses with pulling our travel trailer. So if your truck fits in your garage now, it will still fit with the Cross Trax deck on. They build them very strong, all welded no bolts. Ramp is 11'6" which makes for easy loading. I 'm able to install my deck in less then 10 mins without any help.

IMO these decks are as high quality as any big name decks, and you save $$$.

Is the quality of these Cross Trax decks significantly better than Titan or other similar "made-overseas-and-bolted together-here" products? If someone could post some detailed photos that would be great :)

Whatever you do, buy one with a telescopic ramp instead of a 2 piece. Makes is WAY easier for single person use. When I was going to buy a deck, I looked at almost everything and decided on the Full-Lotus. Certainly not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I look at it as a one time purchase. No reason why it shouldn't last my whole sledding "career".

My 2 cents.

I bought a used 2009 marathon with the extension and it;s great, But if I was buying a new one today, I would message GoodNGrubby and get a Crosstrax with the extention. the new marathon truck box decks are beautiful, but a little pricey for most, and the crosstrax deck are very well built and durable for the price.

I was gonna type a big story but I deleted it. Mine's an old cross traxx I bought used in 2005. Other than the cracked legs, it's been a tough candidate.

The short and gritty of my post was don't cheap out with 'some' of those scabby made in china brands- they'll break on you, the plywood won't last, the lights burn out, the ramp will bend.

If you do not want ramps I have a hydraulic one for sale (went to a 5th wheel). It will also be a little more money.
