I'm not going to go digging back through this monster of a thread. But aren't some of the Fords with a 6.6' box crew cab 4x4 good for 2700lbs cargo? You would probably be on the close but with an aluminum deck I would think it should be good.

Yes you can spec a Ford 150 with almost the same payload as a HD diesel 2500.

I am not sure it’s the 6.6 box, maybe a 8 and not a crew cab last I checked.

The regular cab long box can get up to 3270. Too bad the eco diesel is so low. The wife is in need of a different vehicle and sask took the farm fuel exemption off gasoline but don't think the diesel will be legal with a deck and sleds.

I would pose this question to the establishment: “Do the categories matter?” Half, 3/4, 1 ton etc?

Either you’re running equipment well suited and legal on all applicable roads for the loads applied, or are you not?

I run a 2500 duramax with a payload of 2,268lbs

with the titan tank, deck/ extension, 2 sleds, gear, fuel, emergency equipment(winch/ rigging) and tool boxes I know I’m over weight.

Its unreal to think I could buy a f150 and be better off “legally”

love the thread, keep the photos coming!!! I actually get excited to get email notifications :rollinglaugh:

It really doesn’t any longer as the overlap and actual half, 3/4 and 1 Ton designations really don’t equate to their capacities.

It’s just a term carried over to identify the class of truck. When someone asks if my truck is a 1 ton, I don’t say no it’s a 4070 lb payload.
