Deck is fine and one lighter, newer sled, in middle of truck to transfer weight
New style half ton also, not older

How about an 81 f150 2wd? Most of the box is rusted out. Must be some savings on weight there?Deck is fine and one lighter, newer sled, in middle of truck to transfer weight

But the mud packed into it, weighs more than the rust that fell off lolHow about an 81 f150 2wd? Most of the box is rusted out. Must be some savings on weight there?

But what if I slap on a set of air bags and don't take any extra gas? I should be good right!

Come July when I'm hard up for a ride I'd use that to get to the snowline.Should be as safe as this. Full credit to Catinthehat who took this picture in the Okanagen last week, but can't figure out how to make it small enough to post.

What do you guys think about putting a two place sled deck on a 1/2 ton???
I remember when I was 16 or so. We put two sleds in the box of my 1980 gmc. One up front track resting on the box rail. One in the back facing the other direction with the track on the box rail. Would never attempt that these days lol
For the record my 2015 ford platinum with max tow has a payload of 1517lbs. To get the 2600lbs you need to have a very specific model and features truck to do so. A deck is not in my future.
Thanks Moyie. Its good to know someone who is computer savvy.Should be as safe as this. Full credit to Catinthehat who took this picture in the Okanagen last week, but can't figure out how to make it small enough to post.

I did that as well but with 3 sleds. And I also hauled around my 377 citation in the back of my hatch back chevette. Track in first and had buddy hold the bumper in the passenger seat.
