Sled deck on 1/2 ton?

When **** hits fan you might not worry but you will be #k'd.
Insurance will look for any out and liability is ever increasingly a litigeous matter ...

I wonder if this has ever happened?

In the last week I have seen 3 different ford F150s with sled decks on them. I have been reading this forum for a while and never seen one. Didn't really think people would temp the fate of the courts and police. Look at that I'm wrong again.... all those brave people. Gives us something to talk about

If they were some of the aluminum fords then ‘supposedly’ they are legal by the book. Since the overall truck is lighter payload can be enough for 2 sleds and gear. But like marginally.

Also some guys from Calgary don’t give an f and risk the short trip to golden I find.

The HD payload F-150 has room to spare with 2 sleds and deck. More payload then most diesel 3/4 tons. I don’t get why everyone on this forum gets so worked up about the number on the side of the truck payload and gvwr of the truck determine its capacity not 150 or 250 or 350. Also BC sets their own gvwr printed in their registration which from what I have seen seems to be empty weight of truck x 1.5 which ends up being significantly north the gvwr in the door. There is a lot scarier things in the road then a f-150 with 2 sleds on deck....rant over! Let’s gets this back to entertaining pics that make this keep going!

See next post for screenshots of F-150 vs 2500 ram. Just shows the number on the side of the truck doesn’t necessarily mean it has a higher payload the diesel eats up a lot of it.

With your average F150 crew cab 4x4 though, you are only going to about 2100lbs max payload capacity unless you opt for the heavy duty payload package with the 18" wheels.

Not saying you can't get a f150 that hauls more that a 2500, but the typical truck on the lot likely isn't going to come with that package.

^^^truth. Nice to place factory order to fit individual needs. All I’m getting at is I don’t even look twice when I see a half ton with a deck anymore. If people choose to be overloaded that’s their problem at the scales could just as easily overload 2500.

I'm with you there. I'll stare a bit when I see a particularly sketchy headlights to the sky load, but i could care less otherwise. I know I'm comfortable in my 3500 and that's all that really matters.

Such a shortage of class action suits and personal injury ambulance chasers.

If your stuck in court and the regulations are SLIGHTLY in your favor doesn't it still come down to Judges discretion on final say whether your---- or not? Just askin.

I'll quit taking 16'x72' Mobile Homes down the gravel roads at night incase I get stopped... Ha

Oh yha,,, no road patrols at 2 am on the icey back roads...

The loads have to be legal since the door sticker fell off mine back in 1977,,, just load and go,,, lifes to short to spend our life time learning to read and understand whats going on...

Thats why we're sled people,,, all we want to do is ride... LOL

Whaa Who,,, time to fix up my Two selds on truck and sell it for my next project...

Up plan for the billy big rig of 28,287 lb rig to pack all the sleds one needs,,, thats just the weigth of the truck empty with no fuel on board... Ha

It won't be my daily driver,,, but it will filled in for miles on the road across the Americas when needed,,, and lots of room to pack along the world of endless...

Pretty sure that it can pack 2 half tons with decks and 4 sleds easy,,, no swet for the 550 hp power / power plant to pull the trailer behind it,,, Ha

80.000 lbs of good times,,, all out average of 9.8 mpr rolling with all 18 wheels,,, Ye Ha... LOL

We moved alot of Mobil Homes at night with 1/2 and 3/4 ton units,,, 40.000 lbs +++... LOL...

Always hit the trail at 2am since the masses of clowns are still in bed

Yeah they have a 5.5' box and terrible payload, like 600#'s

Everyone is getting upset at a 1/2 ton truck with a sled deck and 2 sleds but no one cares about the 3/4 ton with sled deck and 3 sleds. Its just as bad but because its got Cummins or Powerstroke on the side and roals coal its legit?
You must be new here. It's not ok to overload a 1/2 ton cause that means you're poor you can only overload lifted diesels cause then you're a baller.

A diesel adds magical payload obviously
According to SkiDoo and mud yes absolutely.
