Yeh folks buy the shorty and then put a 8 ft deck in it !!
Don’t see the logic behind it but lots seem to ?
Have to purchase a $2-3000 dollar fifth wheel hitch so they can pull the unit behind .
More people with shorty’s then long box’s so who’s the odd ball !! Lol

I have a 37ft bumper pull TT. That would be interesting with a long box truck, getting into provincial campgrounds designed in the days tent trailers were popular.

Truthfully, I really have not had the use for a long box yet.

Why would that be interesting? It would be more stable on the road with a longer wheelbase.

It's only 18" longer than a short box. I've put a 44ft fiver in to some small campgrounds. More or less the same idea.

Pfffft !!
You can drive **** and would only make you that much better .
The extra length only helps when pulling .
Try one . You won’t go back .
Won’t be like a chicken pulling a bale of hay .

I have no issue on the highway, its the tiny campgrounds in my area.

Im not a fan of jackknifing my trailer in to parking stalls, its hard on axles.
Fifth wheel is totally different than a bumper pull. You are probably the same length as me overall.

Oh I prefer the longer wheelbase. Nothing like driving a Peterbilt with a 280” WB on the highway. Just a pain to back into city docks with.

I've never owned a short box.
Just seems I always wanted it for hauling stuff so the long box allows just that little bit more.
Even my 1965 truck is a long box (only step side I've ever owned).
Personally I think if you want a short box, buy a car.

Short box truck owners should have short track sleds as well ?
Easier to get around the parting lots and easier to turn ??

I got 154. old guys and flat landers think that's a short track lmao

I want a 129 or 137 for spring riding. 146 is kinda a wtf length track imo 146 cam be real fun to ride though.

Could put a 154 track on the 129/137 and be a expert type thing .
Just like short box and a long deck .
See ? Same , same for the 1/2 ton short box crowd .haha

What may be interesting is how much better a long box hauls down the road!!
a dually long box is what we haul with and I don't worry about parking cuz its hauled across the USA just like it was built for
