Westlock Donation Center (Old Saan Store) The people there said they had just got the keys to the empty building at 5 pm and Mike took these pics at about 10:30 pm. Almost full! I am sure by noon today it will be empty and more will be needed!

good time for looters who are stupid enough to go into town.

Was bull *spitting* with a buddies dad last night in his shop and he says that guys that were hauling up near slave lake from the trucking company he works for had to be police escorted out of the area through the forest fire going 150km/h on logging roads because they were hauling chemicals that were 10 x more volatile then gasoline. from how he described it they were driving down roads that had fire and huge flames shooting onto the road on both sides.

Enerchem has a frac plant just north of Slave Lake, very flammable product.

From Global Edmonton : They are no longer accepting physical donations for slave lake as they have been overwhelmed, the news is telling people to donate cash through the red cross or wait until they have figured out what items they are in need of

I'm sure many will agree :d it just warms my heart deeply how people can come together upon such a tragedy and work together helping out complete strangers who are in a desparate time of need and comfort.

Yup physical donations not required for Athabasca, Westlock still good and the Red Cross has a warehouse in edmonton to store and sort stuff.

Cash is King though!!! Cash donations will also be excepted at the Spruce Grove Walmart. Just go in the store and they have something set up.

Reiterating I know but just heard again on the news in an interview that the Organizers and Red Cross have asked that physical donation drives be halted at this time due to an overwhelming response.

Canadians wishing to support the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Response efforts are encouraged to contribute by calling 1-800-418-1111, donating through redcross.ca, or contacting their local Red Cross office. Cheques should be made payable to the Canadian Red Cross, earmarked “Alberta Fires” and mailed to the Canadian Red Cross National Office, 170 Metcalfe Street, Suite 300, Ottawa, Ontario, K2P 2P2.

The generousity of people is amazing!! Team Doo Over's trailer was loaded within an hour of arriving at Walmart in Spruce Grove. People would just keep coming, or ask what was needed go into the store and buy it. Pretty cool. Three 28ft. were loaded and delivered last night as was mentioned.

Arrf's trailer would have been loaded faster buy we needed to sweep it first!! lol :eek: Nice job Many #s.

Saw this morning that Global mentioned the Spruce Grove Walmart as a drop off site so I imagine it will be busier today than yesterday. Keep up the great work Nick, Wayne and family!!

It had just got back from fixing trails with Hadster. Lol. I had no time to sweep.
