SKU Help!!

[knee deep in it]

I would love to support local but they make it real hard. Many time, I need a part and they don't stock it. Real basic stuff that isn't too expensive to stock.

I could deal with that but one thing that drives me crazy i that they don't seem to like me. I don't get calls returned when they are with a customer. I don't get parts in a timely basis and dealership prices in Calgary are out of this world.

Maybe I have to buy a sled from them to get into their inner circle. I did that with Blackfoot Motorsports and they turned out to be the worst of the lot.

So far, I have been lied to, ignored, and outright ripped off by the local dealerships. I still use them frequently but they are now my second choice.

I only have a few things to say in regards to what maxwell said. First off, I thought you gave me that info to help me, not hold it above my head to use later. When I help someone out or give them information I do it because I WANT to help, not to use it again'st someone later.

Bill was an amazing man to work with, even though I never had the priveledge of meeting him. He told me taking the stator off was a 5min job and that of course they would help me out and take it off. I bought the mechanic lunch for his help even. I have passed along his name on numerous occasions to many people as he was wonderful to work with and knowledgable. That said, I actually didn't even consider calling him as I didn't even think of it, brain fart on my part. However I really don't think his prices would even come close to what I am getting in the states, and since I am already going there why not buy down there and bring it up.

Secondly, the parts girl whose time I did take up, well I didn't call, I emailed her my question and asked her if she wanted to help and told her I understood if she couldn't and that it was totally fine. A girl who I know from highschool. So no I didn't take her time from anyone, just when she had a spare second or lull she helped me out. And it was exactly 9 parts I gave her, no more, no less.

I do, and have bought local of course. When I do a big parts order, such as this on things that I don't need right away why wouldn't I shop around and go online, to the states, or wherever to save some money on some parts. I have and will again go to The Sled Shed, The Snowmobile Parlour, Snowmobile Recyclers(although I haven't bought from him yet), Bow Cycle South and a few other places in BC. So yes I do support local shops.

So what makes what I am doing oh so wrong, when you yourself say you do the same thing? It makes no sense to me that I am being hung out to dry by you and your followers. And Jr Highmark, I was in no way shape or form antagoizing, I was asking him to explain himself.

I will restate what I told you on fb after your comment on there too...I am already going to Deer Park, Washington, so why wouldn't I get my parts shipped there...I will save, not only on shiopping fees, but on the cost of the materials I've ordered. All in all I tallied my savings at somewhere around $500...now...my math may be wrong but that is slightly more than a "couple of bucks" in savings.

No matter what, this is a debate I will loose because a majority of people on this site follow his every word, and won't go against him because as he and you guys have put it is "godwell" so no matter what I cannot compete. The people out there that are reading this and are able to see things from both perspectives with an open mind will see truths and faults in BOTH of our arguements and cases. I agree with some things he says, and he may very well agree with things I say.

I factored in the springs and shocks that are not stock items but just a good deal and a guy I was referred to who happened to be in the states. My parts list is up, if you want to call and get the prices of what those items would cost up here I'd be curious to see. But perfect example, a spark plug I pay $5 for, I would pay up to $15 here. That price I pay in the states is below the dealers cost up here and I in no way shape or form ever expect anyone to loose money to help me out. I wouldn't even want it at their cost, nor would most dealers not want to give it at their cost either.

As I stated above, there is no winning this debate with people that are close minded and are not going to even attempt to see the other side. People shop around, I do and there is nothing wrong with that. And despite what you say, I do support the local dealers to a point. They have no control over what Bombardier sets their prices at. It is Bombardier as a company that has decided to keep prices high for Canadians. I'm not sure why, but that is what they have decided to do.

This thread has gone completely off topic, and if I have said things that have been offensive I appologize. I am always grateful for any and all help offered to me. And I always offer something in return, money, food, beer, gift cards, whatever it may be. The people that have helped me know that.

With all that said, post what you will and bash me and me wanting to "shop around" all you want, but I cannot participate in a conversation that is going nowhere, where I am being pushed into a corner. If you want to continue to debate with me in a productive manner, PM me, and I welcome maxwells responses. I have no issues with most of what anyone has said, I do have an issue with people commenting on things that you yourself have no idea about. Get the full story before you jump to conclusions.

Why do you guys figure that the guy down the street is there for you? He is in business to make money and will charge what ever people are willing to pay. If buddy down the road charges a fair price for good work and it's convenient, go there. But trying to tell someone that they are doing something wrong or being cheap for shopping around makes no sense. If you have some kind of relationship with your dealer good for you, but he is still there to make money off of you, and if you don't shop around you will end up paying more. I have not bought any sleds or riding gear from the local dealer for the last few years. Why should I pay 30% more so buddy down the road can stay in business, if he goes under it's not my fault, it's his!!!

that is completely different. if they arent willing to help you out from anything to a 50 cent part to a new sled then dont give them your business. absolutely agree with that. especially since you have tried repeatedly. you gave it your best shot
